In accordance with Article 2 of the Code of Electoral Procedure of the AS FMP CU, the AS FMP CU sets the date and form of the by-elections to the student section of the Academic Senate of the FMP CU for 7 – 9 October 2024 electronically via computer network. The voting application will be launched at 8:00 a.m. on the first day of the election and voting will close at 12:00 p.m. on the last day of the election. In accordance with Article 4 of the Code of Electoral Procedure of the AS FMP CU, the AS FMP CU appoints an elections committee consisting of Mgr. Alena Holá (Chairperson), doc. MUDr. Aleš Kroužecký, Ph.D. and MUDr. Lucie Züglerová.
The reason for announcing the by-elections is the decrease in the number of members in the student part of the AS FMP by one member without the possibility of replacing him/her from among the alternates.
According to Articles 1 and 5 of the Code of Electoral Regulations of the AS FMP CU, all undergraduate students of the FMP CU in both Czech and English languages, as well as all postgraduate students in full-time and combined form of study can vote and be elected.
Those nominated by at least 5 members of the student part of the FMP academic community will be included on the nomination list. Proposals for candidates shall be in writing. The proposal must include: the name of the nominee and his/her year of study, the names, years of study and signatures of the proposers, and the nominee’s signed consent to run.
Proposals shall be submitted to the Chair of the Elections Committee no later than one week prior to the first day of the election. The proposal can be brought in person to the AS FMP Secretariat (Department of Sports Medicine and Active Health, 4th floor Unimec 1, Mrs. Klára Branda) or can be sent in scanned form to the following email address: klara.branda@lfp.cuni.cz
If students who are also FMP academic staff members wish to vote and be elected, they must request in writing to be transferred to the list of voters or candidates of the FMP student section. This request should be sent to the Chair of the Elections Committee via email to the AS Secretariat: klara.branda@lfp.cuni.cz. Please include the following sentence in your request: “I am requesting to be reassigned to the list of student section voters/candidates for the purpose of the FMP Student Section by-election to be held on October 7-9, 2024.” Please include your full name including titles in the email.
