Visit from Imperial College London
In October 2015, the Faculty of Medicine in Pilsen hosted a visit from the Director of the Research Office at Imperial College London: Lynne Cox, director of the office, and her colleague Carole Meads. In the morning part of the visit, the ladies inspected the new premises of Biomedical Centre and the Department of Biology. Researchers form the Faculty of Medicine introduced the main directions of research at the faculty in a few short presentations. The afternoon was then rather informal: the visitors took the Pilsner Urquell Brewery tour. They also continued their debate with representatives of the faculty at lunch. Prospects for future cooperation between the two universities were formed, especially in the preparation of projects EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation "Horizon 2020" projects.
Imperial College London repeatedly ranks at the top of various university rankings. In 2015, the World University Rankings announced the college as the second best university in the world. The college is also one of the most successful applicants for European projects.
